An area just off Prague’s Old Town Square has become something of a hub for high-end Czech fashion labels. Located on and off Dlouhá street on its surrounding side streets, these designer boutiques have been placed under the umbrella of the Czech Fashion Center – an association formed by the designers themselves to distinguish and promote the district. Some of my favorites among the shops include Bohéme, which Czech designer Hana Stocklassová started while studying in Sweden. Including suede and leatherwear, the collection is distinguished by its knitwear, which includes well-cut chunky sweaters that make me look forward to winter. Founded by designers Alexandra Pavalová and Ivana Šafránková, Timoure Et Group (TEG) is a classic collection with a focus on wools in winter and linens and cottons in summer. TEG has a second shop in the Old Town District on Martinská 4. Klára Nademlýnská, whose shop is located front and center on Dlouhá, worked in Paris before establishing her own label back in Prague. Her super chic fashions range in price from a simple T’shirt at 2,000 CZK up to 14,000 CZK for a summer dress in silk. For the well-dressed man in your life Jozef Sloboda offers all items in limited edition as well as bespoke suits. Although a bit off the beaten Dlouhá path, Jozef’s shop is still in the Old Town district, as are a handful of other high-end Czech boutiques which together provide an opportunity to distinguish your wardrobe with some high quality, original Czech fashion.
