This website, launched in 2011, offers a fresh look at the Czech capital for both visitors to Prague and long-time residents like myself who think they’ve seen it all. Get insidery tips on loved-by-locals pubs, cafes, and nightlife venues, plus interesting picks for places to visit in Prague that are—as the site’s name suggests—off the map. Sections I find especially helpful: “Prague Tips by District” for adventurous souls who wish to leave the center, “Random Cool Shops” for those in search of funky finds, and “Alternative Prague Sites” a list of attractions far removed from the throngs beneath the Astronomical Clock. Prague Off the Map also organizes paid-for tours (a popular one highlights Prague’s hippest graffiti spots) and acts as a booking agent for alternative accommodation. Reserve a stylish apartment or studio in Vinohrady or similarly trendy district to experience a different side of Prague, not as the site’s creators put it “A European Disneyland”. Off the map but right on the mark.
