Lucerna Palace Cinema

Published on September 27th, 2012 in Entertainment

  • Entrance to Lucerna Theater

The oldest permanently operated movie theatre in Europe, the Lucerna Cinema opened in 1909. It was also here that the very first “talkie” premiered in Europe. With its glamorous velvet curtain, gilt chandeliers and balcony, this auditorium will absolutely take you back to the golden age of cinema. Even if you’re not up for a movie, it’s worth a visit just to check out the building.
