Balloon Center Prague

  • The Balloon floating high above the river

  • A perfect date!

A hot air balloon flight over Prague’s historic center is thrilling and memorable – but not for the faint of heart! The balloon in question is attached to a fixed cable – so you don’t need to worry about floating away – and rises 80 meters (about 265 ft.) above the Charles Bridge, providing a gorgeous panoramic view of Prague and beyond. I went with my editor and we both loved it, although I will admit I was a bit nervous at the time. A word to the wise: be prepared for the jolt you’ll feel when the balloon reaches maximum height – and for the fact that it can get a bit windy up there – and you’ll be just fine. The operation is very professional, and safety is clearly a priority – they even provide you with a walkie-talkie so that you can communicate with them if you wish to end your ride early. Note that children up to 40 kilos (about 90 lbs.) can ride for FREE, if they are brave enough to want to! I recommend that you (or your hotel concierge) call ahead to confirm flight schedules, as the operation is, of course, highly dependent on wind and weather conditions.
